Family Fun In Phoenix

Did you know that the Phoenix Zoo, affectionately known as PhxZoo, is one of the nation’s top 5 zoos for kids? It houses more than 1,300 animals including 200 endangered species, and enjoys healthy growth. From tadpoles to a vulture, big horn sheep to prairie dogs, baby fever has hit the PhxZoo! In May 2010 the zoo welcomed dozens of babies into the world.

The Arizona Science Center is a hands-on, eye-opening experience for the whole family. The Dorrance Planetarium will wow you with this cutting-edge technology, while the IMAX Theater will keep you absorbed in its variety of programs. Check their “Family Events” schedule for other entertaining options.

For hands-on entertainment, the Children’s Museum of Phoenix doesn’t disappoint. The Museum focuses on learning through play with hands-on, interactive exhibits designed for kids from birth to 10 yrs. Have fun, and expect to get your hands a little messy!

If you have a budding thespian at home, rush over to the auditions held for the Children’s Theatre productions at Scottsdale’s Desert States Theatre. With multiple stages, the theatre offers high quality entertainment for all ages. Desert Stages provides a compelling, interactive experience you won’t want to miss.

Who can resist railroads and free admission? Happily you get both at the McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park, in the heart of Scottsdale, Arizona. You can ride the railroad and the antique carousel, visit the museum or play in one of the spacious playgrounds. After a busy day, feel free to just relax in the grass under a tree, or have a picnic in one of the park’s designated areas. This is one of the most unique parks of its kind in the country.

Now that you have a few exciting ideas about Phoenix and its surrounding areas, take the family and have a blast!
